MORE ABOUT S.E.E. CT:

Founded in the summer of 2020 by Cailyn Carr and Felicia Jordan, S.E.E. CT has grown into a dedicated group of activists, parents and community organizers working together to promote a racially inclusive curriculum starting in Kindergarten (K-12). We will also work with our district administrators to ensure that students and families receive other training and supports needed to address social emotional issues that arise around race as well as other factors that affect race in schools.

We look forward to being a community that leads by example. It is no longer enough to lament racially induced tragedies, behaviors or systemic racism. All of us must be committed to speaking up and acting when we encounter these injustices. We are pledging immediate action by our own organization, and also call for our town, school district representation and our fellow residents to join us. We all need to commit to concrete actions to begin to dismantle systemic racism in these institutions, both of which can have profound negative impacts on people of color.

We know that meaningful change does not come quickly or easily. As an advocacy group we are committed to being in this struggle for as long as it takes. We believe that our community can be a model to follow and, based on the growing commitment to our cause, we know we have a strong foundation to get started. Please join our movement!
